Anger Management

Anger is a normal, healthy emotion. But when explosive anger spirals out of control it can have serious consequences for your relationships, health and state of mind.
You can learn to understand and express your emotions, including anger  without hurting others.
There are ranges of myths about anger:
1.  I should let my anger out
It’s not so much ‘letting out’ as finding the right way to vent your feelings. Outbursts only fuel the anger problem
2.  Anger and intimidation help me get respect.
People may be afraid of your anger, but won’t respect you. The power differences that are created in relationships through aggressive verbal outbursts will make it impossible to create a healthy, positive communication.
3. Anger is something I can’t control. You can learn to control your anger without being verbally or physically abusive. Even if someone pushes your buttons you have a choice how to respond.
4. We should suppress our anger
Anger is a healthy emotion. The aim is to become aware of your feelings and needs and learn to express these in healthier ways.
Anger management approaches include exploring what is behind the anger, being aware of your anger triggers, and learning techniques to manage your anger.
